Muhammad Wasim was appointed as the head coach of the national women’s team in 2024.
Sources indicate that under his coaching, the team’s performance continued to decline, and despite full support from the board, he was unable to deliver results.
Contrary to his claims, the team did not win a single match in the Women’s World Cup. Complaints also surfaced regarding a lack of proper coaching for the players.
Although Wasim was a batsman himself, the women’s team’s batting remained the weakest aspect.
His behavior was reportedly erratic, and he struggled to maintain good relations with the players, as well as with the bowling and batting coaches.
Wasim was also involved in team selection and appointed the support staff at his discretion, yet the results remained poor.
The women’s team’s bowling continued to deteriorate, and fielding showed no improvement, with several catches dropped during the World Cup.
